Susan M. Faust, Ph.D.
Founder & CEO
Dr. Faust is the Founder and CEO of NxGEN Vector Solutions, LLC. She has experience in scientific research, academic technology transfer, patent prosecution, and business development.
Dr. Faust received a B.S. in Microbiology from the Pennsylvania State University with Minors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a concurrent Master’s degree in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan. She held a postdoctoral position at the University of Pennsylvania studying the immune response to viral vectors used in gene therapy.
Dr. Faust is an inventor on multiple patent applications and has received numerous awards for her work, including a Young Investigator Award from the American Transplant Congress and the Sanjeev Kumar Excellence in Science Award from the University of Pennsylvania.

Joseph E. Rabinowitz, Ph.D.
Member & CSO
Dr. Rabinowitz is the CSO of NxGEN Vector Solutions, LLC. He has extensive experience in AAV biology and expertise in increasing the transduction efficiency of viral gene delivery as well as AAV capsid development.
Dr. Rabinowitz received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Case Western Reserve University. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of North Carolina studying under the mentorship of R. Jude Samulski.
Dr Rabinowitz held professorships at Thomas Jefferson University and Temple University where he successfully ran academic laboratories concerned with AAV cardiac gene therapy before joining Pfizer as Senior Director of Capsid Development and Cardiac Gene Therapy.
Dr. Rabinowitz is an inventor on multiple patent applications.

John R. Bullinga, M.D.
Member & CMO
Dr. Bullinga is the CMO of NxGEN Vector Solutions, LLC. He is a Senior Cardiologist and the Director of Electrophysiology Laboratories at Penn Cardiology, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Bullinga received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Iowa and an M.D. from the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. He performed a Residency at the University of Utah Medical Center and a Fellowship in Cardiology at New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Bullinga has received a number of awards and has been recognized by America’s Top Doctors 2015 – 2017 and by Best Doctors in America 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018. Dr. Bullinga was also recognized in Philadelphia magazine’s annual Top Docs issues from 2004 to 2020.
Dr. Bullinga is an inventor on multiple patent applications.
Haiyan Fu, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Haiyan Fu is a Scientific Advisor for NxGEN Vector Solutions, LLC. She has expertise in AAV gene therapy with a focus on AAV gene delivery approaches to target the entire nervous system to treat neuropathic lysosomal storage diseases in humans.
Dr. Fu has received her medical training from Shandong Medical University and her Ph.D. from the Institute for Animal Health, U.K. She held a postdoctoral position at the University of North Carolina.
Dr Fu was a faculty member at the Center for Gene Therapy, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and is currently a faculty member at the Gene Therapy Center, University of North Carolina. Dr Fu is also the Founder of the gene therapy biotech start-up, NeuroGT, and the inventor on multiple patent applications.
